South Cambs Chairman Charlie Nightingale

Aged 16 Charlie joined Rattee and Kett as a Carpenter and Joiner. After serving a five-year apprenticeship he was made the company's youngest Site Foreman, aged just 21.  He was given his first site as General Foreman within six months and went on to serve Rattee and Kett for 21 years working on many Cambridge University buildings.  

He worked as Project Manager on the David Rayner Building, the home of the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre at Scotsdales in Great Shelford.

New Cambridge MP Julian Huppert joins judges

Julian Huppert is the new Liberal-Democrat MP for Cambridge. He was elected with a majority of nearly 7,000 in May 2010.

Julian‘s involvement in Cambridge politics began in 1997 when he
ran the student campaign for the general election. He went on to represent
the city for eight years as a county councillor for the East Chesterton ward
and as county Lib Dem leader.

My husband Ian and I moved to the small village of Dullingham, in East Cambridgeshire, from Sussex nearly 21 years ago.

I became a District Councillor in May 2003 and represent the ward of Dullingham Villages.  I come from a family who have always been keenly interested in politics. My father served for over 30 years as a Councillor and I am pleased to be the second generation of the family to take up the political challenge and get actively involved.

Alan was born in Glossop , Derbyshire, in 1964. He attended St Phillip Howard secondary school and Tameside College and received 6 O-levels, the forerunners to GCSEs, and 2 A-levels.

Cllr Sheila Stuart has been a member of the Council since 2004, when she was first elected to represent Trumpington ward. 

Sheila has served on the Environment, Licensing and Planning Committees, as well as Standards Committee, and as a member of the Employment Appeals panels.  She has  also chaired the Public Art Steering Group. 

She served as Executive Councillor for Community Development and Health from 2006 – 2009.  Her civic roles include her service as a Ceremonial Bailiff in 2006/07 and as Deputy Mayor in 2009/10.
